Gucci Flora ad

This is a short video promoting fhe new scent by Gucci. However, i am more interested in the landscape that Abbey Lee is in. She is surrounded by millions of flowers in a meadow. She seems so free and open to anything. Shelooks as though sheis in complete bliss. The time of day, is most likely to be in the late afternoon, and itreally sets the mood. This landscape makea me feel so blissful and to feel that i can escape to any place.

techniques i have used (:

Currently; i have made 4 pages so far.
Some technqiues that i have used is used the etching needle and made etchings. I have used this on 2 pages so far; and i think this technique is great and always turns out looking different and unique everytime; as the amount of ink and the way that i etch my lines on. I sometimes like it how it comes out blotchy because it makes it look vintagy and old. This is an example of an etching in an artist book.

Also; i have used the sewing machine to put some pieces together on the page. I was very excited as i was using the sewing machine for the first time! I never thought it was that easy and it was quite easy to control as well. I stitched the edges of the material to make it stay together with the paper. I also stiched the etching of Prague onto the page aswell. I think the small stitching marks make it look quite vintagy and i like the effect. An example of stitching on paper is below.

Another technique i used the spray bottle to put some colour and to make it look liek it had blasted with colour. I think this effect makes it have more oclour than usual; as most of my other pages have simple colours. Here is an example how it can make a page look full of colour.

my pages so far (:

some of my tickets:
These are some of my tickets that i have collected over time. I will use this on my travelling page.

storyboard:
This is my story board of my pages that i am doing for my artist book. This will be more visible in my ART BOOK.

influential people:
This page is a picture of Einstein with hair and a bow reading an Audrey Hepburn book. I used Einstein because he is a very influential man; who was very smart and was regarded the father of modern physics. I put a wig on Einstein as i wanted it to seem that i would very much like to achieve as much as he did;and that i would like to see myself like him in the future as an achiever. Also; i wanted to show that there are many women in the world that have influenced many as Einstein. Einstein is holding an Audrey Hepburn book. Audrey Hepburn is my idol and i look up to her to be like her. She is amazing in many ways and i think her actions are always benefiting others lives. She was very beautiful and her roles in movies were always remarkable. Her role as a humanitarian has inspired me to see that there are so many people out there that are not as priveledged as i am. I put coins on the page which are sown on aswell; and i want to a quotes there saying, “Life is like a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you only spend it once”. This is showing that you have to cherish your life; as you only have one.

birth page:

This page is mainly about my birth time and place. I wanted to make it look vintage to show how time has gone past and time has changed. In the background i have made an etching of Prague; as i was born there (Czech Republic). Also; i got a vintage picture of a black and white carriage with a baby inside. I then put pink material to make small little wings; to symbolise the freedom i felt for being in this world and alive and healthy. The pink colour symbolises the calm relaxed feeling i felt during the time of my childhood as a baby. I then have a clock dangling on the bottom; which symbolises time and how over time i have changed and become a different and better person as i grew older and older.

life page:

This page is mainly about the life cycle of birth and death. In the background i have used some segments of the story of BAMBI. I used the birth of Bambi and the death of Bambi's mother. I also used a young leaf to resemble youth and divinity; then next to it is an old leaf which resembles age; but it still has beauty in the way the leaf has aged, this symbolises either death or growing up. Then on the stem of the leaf is a picture of Bambi and his mother. To show their close relationship; as is dad's and i. (:

quotes page:

This page is mainly showing the quotes that i truly believe in. I sprayed some ink and used metallic pencils to go over the sprayed bit. I again used pink and warm colours to show warmth and peace. I etched a picture of Winnie the Pooh and Christopher to show their friendship and how warm and beautiful their relationship is. On the top i used a quote which i believed was relevant to life.

belief page:

This page was made by putting heaps of coloured crayons on the page and then going over it with black crayon. I then scratched the page so then the colours were seen underneath. I then wrote out a quote that Martin Luther said. I then glued a picture of a tree with the word mystic on top. I think trees represent growth, life and family.

me as a child, what is a symbol, what is a metaphor and what is a visual metaphor?

me as a child:
I was born in Prague, in the afternoon on the 16th of February. At the age of 5, I moved with my dad to Australia. We lived on the coast; and I went to pre-school. At first I found it hard to learn and to understand the language. As a child; I was usually quiet and very shy. I had very short boy hair and I felt non-confident in my appearance. I was involved in many sports activities and I loved to run. I always wanted to play with my toys and didn’t always want to share with my cousin. I was always the tall girl in my class; whilst everyone else was still growing and quite short. My academic results were good; and I enjoyed learning. I was very eager to find and explore what was in my backyard. I was always following my friends and was never a leader. I was always interested in fashion and clothing; and would dress myself up in clothes that I chose. I soon became confident with myself; and tried to overcome the fact that I had very short hair.

Me now:
I have now become more matured and have had many responsibilities which I had to be responsible for. School work has affected me as a person; as at times I may be under a lot of stress and may get moody. However; I try to be an honest and loyal person to my friends and enjoy the company of my friends and family. I have had many leadership roles during my time in St Hildas; and have enjoyed the opportunities. I am unfortunately; still a quiet and shy person when I am around people I do not really know; however; I try to work on my confidence and to achieve being more of a leader.

What is a symbol?
• Something that represents something else by association, resemblance, or convention, especially a material object used to represent something invisible.
• A printed or written sign used to represent an operation, element, quantity, quality, or relation, as in mathematics or music.
• An object or image that an individual unconsciously uses to represent repressed thoughts, feelings, or impulses

What is a metaphor?

Metaphors are a way to describe something. Authors use them to make their writing more interesting or entertaining. All metaphors, say that each thing is something that is obviously not. Metaphors are figures of speech through which words or phrases are used to describe or qualify others with which they are not normally related, and it just involves a comparison. An example of a metaphor is; Life is a journey or; my memory if foggy.

What is a visual metaphor?
A visual metaphor can also be known as a pictorial metaphor. This a metaphor in which something that is presented visually is compared to something that belongs to another category of things than the first, also presented visually. Visual/pictorial metaphors are used often in advertising, but also in cartoons and art films. Some examples are; red means stop, green means go, fingerprints and whirls which are visible in wood, broccoli looking like trees, cauliflower looking like clouds, the ponds surface looks like a mirror.

He has close relationships with controversial people such as; Pete Doherty and Amy Winehouse. I think his personality is very quirky..and i LOVE it...it just makes him so much unusual and unique...and it is very interesting! His works inspire many....and another reason to LOVE Hedi....is that he creates beautiful black and white photographs..which are simple yet...meaningful and full of detail. His works in fashion....are AMAZING! He has worked for many big fashion industries such as; Dior and Yves Saint Laurent.
